Dodge Charger is a sports car that Dodge originally released in 1966. It's been available in many different body styles over the years -- a subcompact hatchback, a full-size sedan, and a personal luxury coupe, to name a few. If you're driving one these days, however, it's likely either from between model years 1984 and 1987, when base, 2.2, and Shelby trims were offered with 1.6- and 2.2-liter, four-cylinder engines, or from 2006 or later, when the car was reintroduced for a sixth generation.
In 2006, trim offerings included base, SE, SXT, R/T, Daytona R/T, Pursuit, and SRT8, and you could choose among 2.7- and 3.5-liter V6 and 5.7- and 6.1-liter V8 engines. By 2007, a five-speed Autostick automatic transmission and all-wheel drive had become available, and features that year were many. They ranged from air conditioning, steel wheels, and a power sunroof to power-adjustable pedals, a rear decklid spoiler, a performance suspension, and more.
Fast-forward to model-year 2021, and trims would range from GT and Scat Pack to SRT Hellcat and SRT Hellcat Redeye, and 3.6- and 6.4-liter V6 and supercharged 6.2-liter V8 engines would become available. They all mated to eight-speed automatic transmissions, and rear-wheel drive (RWD) came standard. Features included chrome exhaust tips, LED daytime running lights (DRLs), alloy wheels, and remote keyless ignition, plus technologies galore. For 2022, features included a Jailbreak package, a HEMI Orange appearance package, and an SRT Black package.
