Radiators 101

What They Do

Part of a greater cooling system, a radiator helps keep an engine from overheating and failing. How that works is coolant (more commonly known as antifreeze) absorbs the excess heat the engine produces while running. The fluid does this as it flows through a radiator hose, between an inlet and outlet (with help from a water pump). As it moves, a radiator cap pressurizes the antifreeze; this enables it to absorb as much heat as it can. Finally, a set of fins on the radiator core release the heat, and a fan scatters it into the surrounding air.

The Signs One's Going Bad

Look for radiator fin damage, the radiator itself leaking coolant/antifreeze, and sludgy coolant, listen for unusual engine noises, and smell for the sweet, syrupy odor of ethylene glycol. The worst symptoms are engine overheats and failures. Problems with your car heating and air conditioning systems can also be telling.

When to Change One

First, check the temperature gauge on your dash; if your engine's running hot, it'll tell you. Then, inspect the cooling system. If the results call for radiator replacement, take care of the job ASAP.

Why Buy from Us?

Top Quality

Mopar makes OEM radiators exclusively for Chrysler, Dodge, Jeep, RAM, FIAT, and SRT vehicles. So, what you get will be designed to exacting brand standards, and it'll work in your vehicle just like a factory radiator.

Low Pricing

Neither a do-it-yourselfer nor a service tech should have to pay premium prices for important cooling system parts like radiators. So, what we sell, we usually price lower than MSRP. Sometimes, you can even get steep markdowns off that, up to 35%. That's a better cost situation than at most CDJR dealerships.

Warranty Coverage

Mopar is known industry-wide for quality manufacturing. So, no OEM radiator for sale online with the Mopar name on it should have any defects in materials or workmanship. In the unlikely case you find one that does, though, the brand can take care of things.
